Each year many people are injured while participating in sport and recreation activities in Ontario. These injuries result in substantial human and financial costs to both individuals and society. Many of these injuries may be preventable with increased availability of safety information.

SafeOntario.org is an online resource centre that promotes and supports safe practices in sport and recreation. The centre provides a network of individuals who have expertise in sport and recreation safety. The centre is for coaches, teachers, athletes, recreationists and parents who are looking for relevant, current, concise and readily available information.

Making It SafeR: Preventing Sexual Abuse of Children was designed as a practical resource that will assist sport organizations in taking important and initial steps to creating safer environments for children who participate in their sport programs.
