About Us

The creation of SafeOntario.org was funded by the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Health Promotion. With SafeOntario.org, the Lifestyle Information Network (LIN) intends to provide Ontarians with a one-stop-shop destination for safety information that is applicable to the sport and recreation sector.

SafeOntario.org will help coaches, teachers, athletes, recreationists, and parents find relevant, current, concise and readily available information and reach a network of individuals who have expertise in safety in sport and recreation.

LIN was founded in 1995 to serve as a focal point for information exchange for the leisure sector. Its mandate is to collect and disseminate relevant and timely information for the sport and recreation sector. During the past few years, LIN has gained an international reputation as a responsive and reliable source of knowledge for the leisure profession. It has established a community of thousands of users. LIN has built an efficient technology infrastructure as well as a people network to collect, classify, store, manage and disseminate information.
